The Writing Café: Shared Pages, In Bloom (23 May 2026)

Join us for a gentle, reflective morning designed to create space for legal professionals to slow down, write, and connect on a more personal level. Through guided journaling and shared reflection, this session invites participants to explore identity, values, and lived experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental setting.

No prior journaling experience is required. Participants are welcome to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, May 23, 2026

Time: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Location: Cafe Marie, 425 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver

We will gather in a cozy café setting. Please note that a minimum purchase of one drink is required to attend.

What to Bring:

A journal and any writing materials (pen, paper, or laptop).

Dim Sum Celebration: 15 years of FACL BC (30 May 2026)

To mark the 15th anniversary of FACL BC, we’d like to invite you to gather and celebrate with us over dim sum at Neptune Seafood Restaurant in Vancouver (Marine Gateway). We’ll be joined by a few special guests, including a number of our past presidents.

This event is only open to FACL BC Members.

RSVP to secure your seat, as we expect this event to sell out. See you there!

Note: Tickets are nonrefundable. If you’re unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to someone else up until May 28 by emailing info@faclbc.ca. Transfers requested after this date will not be honoured.

The FACL BC In-House Committee is thrilled to host a Trailblazer event with Dorothy Wong, the Chief Legal and Governance Officer of ICBC. You will hear firsthand from Dorothy about her career path, from navigating challenges to leading by example to raising the bar for the legal community.

Please join us for an engaging and thoughtful discussion with Dorothy. Open to both in-house lawyers and private practitioners, this event will be an opportunity to network and reflect on the impact the two groups can make collectively for the legal profession.
