President

Jenny Huang (she/her) is an associate at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP.  She has scaled a cliff in Iceland, auditioned for the Great Canadian Baking Show and appeared in a superhero TV show, but one of the above is a lie. Come to the next FACL BC event to find out the truth!


Vice-President External

Sebastian Chern (he/him) is an associate at Howard Employment Law. Sebastian is proudly Taiwanese and is always on the hunt for the best beef noodle soup in Vancouver (he still strongly believes his mom's is the best).



Vice-President Internal

Jennine Punzalan (she/her) is a litigation associate at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP and completed a clerkship at the Federal Court. She has an affinity for musical theatre, Scandinavian design, and cats.

Vice-President Marketing


Sandy Lun (she/her) is an associate at Farris LLP where she maintains a broad litigation practice. In her spare time, she enjoys paddleboarding, falling off her snowboard, and dreaming about her future pet cat. 


Vice-President Development

Paige Mueller (she/her) graduated from TRU as a Law Society of BC Gold Medallist. She is a litigation associate at Fasken with a focus on commercial litigation and arbitration. Paige enjoys exploring new restaurants, cultivating her culinary skills, and cheering for the Seahawks.

Gala Chair

Lily Zhang (she/her) is a litigation associate at Owen Bird Law Corporation. She is a Formula 1 race fan.



Treasurer

Daniel Szeto (he/him) is an associate at Miller Thomson in the Social Impact group following a brief stint as an accountant prior to entering the legal profession. He was previously an Executive Coordinator for FACL BC from 2020 to 2022. 


Advisory Director

Fiona Wong (she/her) is an employment lawyer at Overholt Law LLP. When she is not working or volunteering for FACL, she enjoys trying new restaurants, planning her next trip, and reminiscing about her past days as a flight attendant.


Secretary

Becca Liu (she/her) is a litigation lawyer. She is a magic show enthusiast and proud Corgi owner.


Director-at-Large

Catherine Wong (she/her) recently completed her articles at Guild Yule LLP. Outside of the legal realm, Catherine loves animals and owns a Holland Lop named Hershey.

Cen Yang (she/her) is a litigator at Singleton Reynolds LLP. In her spare time, she enjoys karaoke, cooking, and trying new restaurants with friends.

Janice Jua Fujikawa (she/her) is an articling student at Owen Bird Law Corporation. She’s won an art scholarship, survived frostbite in the deep woods, and trained under a professional sushi chef. Join her at FACL “Write On” journaling events for the inside scoop, and the wisdom of her 80-year-old poodle.

Miguel Oreta (he/him) is a third year student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. He believes that justice should be served cold, otherwise it would be just water.

Nyusha Samiei is a family lawyer at Jiwa Law Corporation. She is fluent in English, French, and Persian and holds two Masters degrees in history. When she’s not lawyering, you can find her cooking for her friends or spending time with her two cats.

Rachel Wong (she/her) is an M&A/corporate lawyer at Mogan Daniels Slager LLP. Before moving to BC, Rachel previously practiced law in Hong Kong. Rachel now enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Milo, staying active, or learning a new board game with family and friends.

Shanna Gu (she/her) is a lawyer at MLT Aikins LLP, and she is licensed to practice in both Ontario and BC. Her simple pleasures in life include skiing, watching the sunset, and eating spicy food.

Xue Zhang (she/her) is an associate in the Asia Pacific Group at Lawson Lundell LLP. In her spare time, Xue enjoys discovering new restaurants, hitting the slopes for snowboarding, and exploring scenic trails.




Student Director (UBC)

Baron Hsueh (he/him) is a second-year law student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. When he's not studying or editing the FACL BC Podcast, you can find him café-hopping around Vancouver, taking a nature walk around Deer Lake, or napping on the R4.

Student Director (UVic)

Avneet Sandhu (she/her) is a second-year law student at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law. She works for the Department of National Defence as a communications officer and serves her non-profit, She Connects, as a board advisor. In her spare time, you will find Avneet hanging out with her dog Roy and snowboarding the slopes at Cypress when the weather allows.




Student Director (TRU)

Simirin Lally (she/her) is a second-year law student at Thompson Rivers University. In her spare time, Simirin enjoys working out, reading, and catching up with friends and family.



Area Director (Kamloops)

Shazia Hosenbocus (she/her) is an associate at Morelli Chertkow LLP in Kamloops. In her spare time, Shazia enjoys hiking and paddle boarding with her dog, Waffle, and coaching local Special Olympics powerlifting athletes.

Area Director (Victoria)

Moora Paw (she/her) is a fourth-year student at the University of Victoria, pursuing a joint degree in Common Law and Indigenous Legal Orders (JD/JID). As a first-generation immigrant and the first Karen (Kayin) to attend law school in Canada, she aims to create more inclusive environments for underrepresented communities within the legal profession.
