FACL BC & FACL Ontario Present: The Women Empowerment Series

FACL BC and FACL Ontario invite all female members of the bar to our Women Empowerment Series, focused on strengthening your presentation skills with presentation skills trainer and coach, Brenda Benham, LLB.

Upon registration you will have access to two 90 minute workshops on Zoom.

In Workshop 1 learn how:

  • to organize an informative speech to be memorable and engaging, including the related brain science
  • to create slides that enhance your presentation, rather than distract from it
  • to feel confident before and during a presentation and tools to use to look great on-line

In Workshop 2 with practice and feedback, attendees will:

  • see their colleagues put the learning from the first training session into an actual presentation and learn from Brenda Benham, LLB’s expert feedback
  • be able to practice the learning from the first training session in an actual presentation themselves

1.50 CPD credits available for each workshop

One time registration fee for both events:

  • Non-Member: $25
  • FACL Lawyer Member: $15
  • FACL Student Member: $10

Please ensure that you are logged in to see member pricing. Questions about membership may be directed to info@faclbc.ca.

This event is open to all self-identifying racialized female members of the bar. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” and welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are female-identified.

Biography - Brenda Benham, LLB:

As a presentation skills trainer and coach, I help detail-oriented people give much better presentations using brain science. But what I really do is help my clients feel competent and be recognized as experts in their field. In my former career as a transactional lawyer, I was called on to give presentations without being equipped with the skills to deliver them well. I know what it is like to lose an audience in all the details! My work is based on my own experience over 30 years of public speaking, as a Toastmaster since 2001, and my in-depth research into the brain science of how people learn and remember.
