Join us for a moderated discussion on how to obtain articling and summer opportunities through the structured recruit process, targeted at LLMCL/NCA candidates. 

Panelists will share their experiences and insights on the structured recruit process, including how to craft standout application materials, how to ace the interviews, and what to expect during the whole process. We are also pleased to have Stephanie Mui, Assistant Dean of Career Services at UBC Allard School of Law, to share her unique perspectives on the structured recruit process.

*Non-LLMCL/NCA students can sign up for the event, but note that the content of the event will be catered towards LLMCL/NCA candidates.

Tiffany Ho (she/her)

Tiffany Ho is an associate at Barbeau Evans LLP, specializing in general business law and real estate law. Outside of work, Tiffany plays an active role in various professional and community organizations. She is an active member of FACL BC, holds the position of co-chair within the CBABC Internationally Trained Lawyer Section, and serves on the board of the Charlford Housing Society for Women.

Stephanie Mui (she/her)

Stephanie Mui is the Assistant Dean, Career Services Office. She received her B.A. from the University of British Columbia and her J.D. from the Peter A. Allard School of Law. She is responsible for developing and managing career services opportunities for Allard law students and alumnae, and building and maintaining Allard’s legal, business, and non-profit network. She also provides career advising services to Allard law students and recent alumni. Prior to joining Allard, Stephanie worked as in-house counsel at a post-secondary institution, specializing in corporate and intellectual propert


Shawn Xin (he/him)

Shawn Xin completed his law degree in England and got qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong. His practice mainly covers equity capital market with focus on initial public offering. After working in Hong Kong for 10+ years, Shawn relocated to Vancouver and completed his LLM Common Law at UBC in 2024. Shawn went through the VBA summer structured recruit process in October 2023 and commenced his summer position at Cassels in mid-May 2024.


Tina Ye (she/her)

Tina obtained her LLB from Queen’s University Belfast and completed the LLMCL program at UBC in 2023. While studying for the program, Tina worked as a legal advocate with the feminist organization BWSS and volunteered extensively with Access Pro-Bono. Tina was successful in securing her articling position with Yan Muirhead LLP (a boutique litigation firm in downtown Vancouver) through the 2023 structured recruit.


Ellie Zareie (she/her)

Ellie Zareie is an articling student at WorkSafeBC. She completed her LLMCL at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, UBC, in May 2024. 

Before relocating to Canada, Ellie had a successful legal career in Iran for over five years. She practiced as a litigator and later as an in-house lawyer for an international corporation, where her expertise in corporate and commercial law enabled her to navigate clients through intricate legal challenges.

Ellie obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2013, and pursued an LL.M. in International Law from Leiden University in The Hague, Netherlands, in 2014. To broaden her international legal perspective in fast-paced environments, Ellie undertook legal internships with the International Criminal Court and the International Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague.
