Dear FACL BC Members,

Effective April 1, 2024, there will be an increase in Full Membership and Supporting Membership pricing from $50 to $80 per year. This adjustment is necessary to support the continued growth and sustainability of FACL BC, a non-profit society dedicated to serving the Asian Canadian legal community. 

In addition, our memberships are currently valid for one year from the date of activation or renewal. Starting January 1, 2025, we will also be transitioning all memberships to a calendar year membership term (January-December) to facilitate a streamlined renewal process for all members. More details to follow in late 2024.

In an effort to mitigate the impact on our members, we are pleased to announce the following transitional measures:

• Active Full Members and Supporting Members with renewal dates between April 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024 will have their membership term automatically extended to January 1, 2025 at no extra cost.
• Active Full Members and Supporting Members who have already renewed their membership in 2024 or plan to renew their membership by March 31, 2024 will be eligible for a 2024 prorated rebate discount code upon request by emailing info@faclbc.ca when they renew their membership in January 2025. The prorated rebate discount code will only be available upon request from January 1, 2025 to January 31, 2025.
• Articling students, NCA candidates, and judicial clerks to the BC Supreme Court, BC Court of Appeal, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Canada, Tax Court of Canada, and Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada are considered Full Members. However, if you fall under any of these categories, you can request a $30 discount code by emailing info@faclbc.ca. Upon activation, the discount code will reduce Full Member pricing from $80 to $50 for those who are eligible. Proof of status may be required for the discount to apply.

Student Membership pricing will remain complimentary and unchanged. Full Membership and Student Membership will continue to be the only classes of members with voting rights and eligibility to run for the FACL BC Board of Directors.
