How did you first get involved with FACL BC?

I was introduced to FACL BC by my wonderful Business Law professor at UBC, Dr. Carol Liao. She invited me to attend one of the Hometown Eats events, where I met several inspiring lawyers, some of whom have since become great mentors and friends. Thank you, Dr. Liao!

What has been your favourite FACL event or initiative so far?

It’s hard to choose, but I’d have to say the Annual Gala! It’s such a fun and inspiring event.

What advice would you give yourself if you were to go back in time?

I would tell myself to shift from a perfectionist mindset to an achievement-oriented one. I’d also remind myself that things rarely go exactly as planned, and that’s okay. It’s often where the most growth and unexpected opportunities come from.

What is something that not many people know about you?

Not many people know that I’ve long been fascinated by ancient Egyptian civilization, the pyramids, the pharaohs, and the mysteries surrounding them. That childhood curiosity never really went away, if anything, it’s grown stronger over time. I’ve even started teaching myself Egyptian Arabic (Masri) so that one day, when I visit, I can connect more deeply with the culture and speak with the locals.
